Ben Bookout

Ben Bookout is both a photographer and an adventurer. Always listening to the desire to take the path less traveled, Ben found himself unafraid to travel to South America and teach English. Equally unafraid (well maybe a little afraid) he returned to Colorado from Cusco, Peru by bus.

When he felt compelled to further his studies in design he again took a path less traveled, which led him to New Zealand then back home to Colorado and then to finish a Masters of Architecture at Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2010. When the call came to begin his own business, Ben dove in head first and succeeded in an economically challenged part of western Colorado with his firm 3cycle Studio.

When it became apparent that 3cycle Studio had run its course Ben moved on quickly to follow one of his original passions: photography. Ben made the decision to begin studies in Colorado Mountain College's professional photography program and found the missing piece to his artistic expression.

While a student at CMC, Ben was an intern at Aspen Film, worked as office manager for Kat Moser Photography and went to Woodstock for an internship at the Center for Photography. Ben also worked as a freelance photographer and shot Gordon Huether's work. He was also included in the January 2019 Landscape show at the Redbrick in Aspen, CO. and had a solo show at The Remedy in Paonia, CO. Ben has been in numerous shows at the Bluesage in Paonia and is included in the most recent edition of The Hand magazine. Additionally, his work has been published in the annual edition of Harvest of Voices.
